About Steven Crammer

Ever since he received his first junior drum set, at age six, Steven has had a passion for the instrument. Steven began as a self-taught musician, learning his first grooves from his father. He learned to read drum music, on his own, from basic music books.

After a few years of learning on his own, Steven decided he wanted to take lessons. His first lessons were taken at a local music store from Scott Kelly. From Scott, he learned the basics of many different styles of music and was inspired to stick with his passion.

At age 12, Steven got his first paying gig at a local dinner theatre playing in the stage band. He continues to perform in various professional stage shows, year after year. Steven has participated in a variety of different music groups. In high school, his marching band and indoor percussion groups, in which he was a member of, have won regional and state championships. At age 14, Steven was the youngest ever to place first for percussion in the PMEA District Band, beating out 60 other percussionists from age 14 thru 18.  He also performed in groups such as jazz band, concert band, and wind ensemble.

As Stevens abilities furthered and he decided to take drumming to a more serious level he began working with Dom Famularo in Long Island, NY. Dom's great passion and enthusiasm for drumming is unmatched. Steven's playing ability has increased tremendously under Dom's instruction. He continues to work with Dom on a regular basis and applies what he has learned to the instruction of his own students, eventually becoming a Dom Famularo WizDOM Drumshed franchise studio!

Steven continues to expand his own learning, working with other world-class drummers and more recently with Claus Hessler from Germany, Ignacio Berroa from NYC, Joe Bergamini in NJ and John Favicchia in NYC.

In early May 2010, Steven held his first drum set clinic at Whitehall Middle School in PA. (click here for performance videos from clinic!) He as was also selected as the drumset player for the 2011 Pennsylvania All-State Jazz Festival in Hershey, PA.

Steven is part of the Dom Famularo WizDOM DrumShed teaching franchise! These schools are taking place all around the world in collaboration with Dom Famularo (www.domfamularo.com), a world renowned teacher, to ensure that the quality of the studios and the teaching process is high class.
